The "Polar Bear with Seal" design depicts a hungry polar bear repeatedly failing to catch a fish from a teasing seal. Originally crafted as a paper DIY for "Young Scientist" magazine, this scene has been transformed into STL files for 3D printing. The design reflects the harsh realities faced by polar bears due to global warming, which has warmed the North Arctic and reduced their habitat, making hunting difficult and signaling the gradual disappearance of polar bears and ice caps.
This art piece, redesigned to convey motion and stillness, required meticulous observation of polar bear movements and precise adjustments of each component's angle for successful 3D printing. It is the most complex and time-intensive design I have shared, involving minimal support material. The outcome brings immense satisfaction.
