To me, much of the beauty of seashells lies in the geometrical surfaces that are hidden inside. Finding ways to visualize and appreciate these surface means opening up sections of the outer shell to peer inside.

This design models the mathematically precise inner geometry of an “ideal” seashell. The spiral, shell thickness, texture and apertures are all created using logarithmic algorithms.

I invite you to “remix” this model by importing it in to your favourite stl editor and finding ways to slice it or open it up in ways that expose interesting perspectives on the inner shapes and surfaces. Consider adding some sort of function such as storage, display or jewelry.
