This modular holder allows you to position your phone or tablet as a document camera.
The height is adjustable, and the device can also be rotated to face the user. All parts are symmetrical, so the base can be oriented for both right- and left-handed users. It is possible to attach multiple devices at once.
When placing your phone or table in the holder, try to position the camera as close to midline as possible so that it is centered over the work space below.
The holder was designed specifically to assist teachers and other educators as they transition to more online instruction in the face of the COVID19 pandemic.
If you are a teacher, this might be a good project to give to one of your students to build for you!

The sliding clamps are secured using 1/4" nuts with 3/4" long hex bolts. The best way to secure the nuts is by positioning them on the holes and heating them up with a soldering iron until they melt in to place. Alternatively, they can be press fit. The bolts fit tightly into the knobs. Use another bolt and hammer to get them all the way in if you need to.
